Project for Nuclear Awareness

PNA has become a Youth Think Tank in Nuclear Disarmament!
While the US is set to spend $640 billion over the next ten years in the nuclear weapons industry, our schools are being closed, our infrastructure is in peril and our politicians fight bitterly over the health care debate. As a Youth Think Tank in Nuclear Disarmament, PNA has initiated the first phase of the Nuclear Budget Campaign, a growing awareness campaign comparing the nuclear budget to the cuts in spending on human needs at home.
Our annual awards ceremony brought together experts in nuclear disarmament and humanitarian development to highlight the disparity between global nuclear spending and human needs. We thank Dr. Joseph Gerson and Dr. Julie Sullivan for helping us forge this comparison. We also thank Harmony Todd for her talented endeavor to create an accessible, informative explanation on nuclear science for the non-scientist in her Nuclear 101 blog series.
As the US and our international partners in the P5 +1 embark on a process of diplomacy instead of war with Iran, PNA cautiously supports the interim deal and continues to educate and work with our policy makers to act in good faith in support of this historic opportunity! As Ukraine works out the complicated processes of self-determination, we hope that the US, Russia and the EU give space for diplomacy real support in this crisis that is takes place in a nuclear shadow.
To support our work as a Youth Think Tank in Nuclear Disarmament for the next year and beyond, please consider giving a gift to Project for Nuclear Awareness. We welcome your support and urge you to consider a one-time donation or a monthly pledge through the Support Page on our website or by mailing a check to our office at Project for Nuclear Awareness, 704 North 23rd Street, Philadelphia, PA 19130, USA.
We want to thank all of our bright, talented, hard-working Fellows for creating accessible materials about nuclear disarmament, all of our colleagues in the community and in the broader civil society, in the many international organizations we admire and from whom we learn so much, those policy makers working toward global diplomatic strategies, and our donors for their generous and reliable support.
As a Youth Think Tank in Nuclear Disarmament, PNA looks forward to growing, learning and working together with you in 2014 and beyond to create awareness, advocate for nuclear abolition and build a vibrant, peaceful global community.
