PENNSYLVANIA’S CONTRIBUTION TO THE NUCLEAR BUDGET


  • The US total individual income tax is $2,462,201,645,000. (2)
  • PA total individual income tax is $105,301,788,000. (3)
  • 4.3% of the nation's collected income tax comes from PA.
  • The US is set to spend $355,000,000,000 on nuclear weapons between 2014 to 2023. (4)
  • 4.3% of $355 billion is $15,265,000,000 of this ten year budget will come from PA.
  • PA will pay $1,526,500,000 annually towards nuclear weapons for the ten years.
  • The population in PA in 2012 was 12,764,475. (5)
  • Each year over the next ten years, PA tax payers contribute $120 to the nuclear weapons budget.


PENNSYLVANIA’S HUMAN NEEDS

  • PA school districts require an additional $4.3 billion to meet adequacy goals. (6) *
  • PA needs an additional $879,686,000 to meet food needs. (7) *
  • PA faces a required investment of $11.4 billion over the next 20 years to replace aging facilities and comply with safe drinking water regulations (8) *

* Reallocated money from wasteful federal nuclear spending could assist state and local funding for such costs.
